German Language Meetup Group

I went to a German Language Meetup group last night and I thought it was sehr gut aber ich struggled mit conversation und ich think des general level des Deutschen was much higher. The people there were very friendly and I enjoyed the night though I didn't speak very much German despite the fact a German lady there who was an ex teacher was trying to keep me to German rather than English which was good. She also suggested that I need to practice written German too and maybe an open learning course may be good.
